Every day securities trading continue to increase, creating a better business scenario
for brokers and dealers. This also means that there is a substantially higher risk
of closing transactions involved with identity fraud, money-laundering, terrorism,
and noncompliance with OFAC, US Patriot Act and BSA.
In January 2004, the publication MoneyLaundering Alert stated,
"Hartsfield Capital Securities, a broker-dealer in the state of Georgia, became
the first securities dealer ever penalized for violating a BSA regulation..." Security
traders, Investment Bankers, Stock Brokers and Dealers who fail to comply with the
OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act can face fines of $250,000 and up to 12 year in prison.
In fact the fines paid by brokers and dealers in 2003 reached over $24 million dollars
- This proves that there is no gap for negligence or non-compliance.
Verification Bureau makes it easy and cost efficient for the
Investment Banking industry to continue to grow focused on its core business while
being safe from its hazards.
